I am thinking about REL T/5X or 7X for my living room which is carpeted. Does anyone have experience of using RELs on quite deep carpeting? Intuitively it feels like the downward firing 5x would not be very effective

Too big and still no HEADPHONE AMP and jack. Fine tuning the volume won't happen with the dial, but rather the app on my phone, from across the room--meaning all the touchy-feelie stuff looks cool, but wouldn't add much to my use.

Jay, Of course you don’t want a linear volume control, you want a logarithmic one. ALWAYS. But that’s what he _meant_ to say. Because log pots _sound_ linear to our ears. Traditionally, LDRs are noisy, but maybe theirs is very special. Cheers!

Interesting. I'm always interested in new GAN stuff. The price doesn't bother me, but the remote is terrible, and yes, while the input memory can be fixed in a firmware update, you gotta review it based on what is, not what will be (which is what you did, so thank you). I hadn't heard of the company before, but now they're on my radar, even if this specific integrated isn't for me.

I had these speakers, they were very mediocre...I replaced them with a set of JM reynauds and it was literally like stepping through a portal in terms of every aspect of the sound, the JMRs are literally the best kept secret in hifi IMO. Thats a speaker you need to review and compare as I did to these. These speakers are a promo speaker, being given away to every reveiwer for publicity. Give people actual product reviews based on great products not free gear.

Q symphony is a mixed bag depending on your tv speakers. If u have the Samsung S90C, the speakers are thin and incompetent. there is a difference of sound experience when u have your dialogue coming out of these thin tv speakers and the rest of the soundbar will overpower it in loud scenes as the vocals cannot be loud enough or sound flatter then usual. It might work better in tvs that have better sound systems. Also Q Symphony is not optimized enough to be a center as you will have weird sound clashes, some stutters in some chaotic scenes. its not qualified to be beta yet and more research needs to be done.

I think many of us would buy the top end of the brand we currently love not a brand we're not familiar with. If i had 13k I'd get Yamaha separates or Marantz Amp 10 etc.

I also use Versalex with Symmetrix LTD Tonearm. Why? I use My Decca London Reference Cartridge , a diva between high- end Cartridges, I mean, is the best partners for this tonearm.Or also one of the other excellent DECCA systems. The tracking of this tonarm is calme , sure and garanties the optimal scanning for the outstanding cantilever DECCA Moving Iron system, with needs no magnet, because the iron end were the diamond tip is fixed, moves 1/1 in a double, horizontal and vertial, magnetic field. The iron cantilever does not require a magnet, since the iron end to which the diamond tip is attached moves in a double, horizontal and vertical magnetic field 1/1.That means low inertie. Due to the special design with pre-tensioned cantilevers, this system can boast a freedom of movement and responsiveness unmatched by any other design. However, due to the oil damping of the WTL Tonearm, the problems of sensitive tracking that previously arose with mechanical bearings , resulting in a nervous and uncertain sound impression, if the adjustment was not meticulous, have been eliminated. Combined with the UNICORN lsp from GERMAN PHYSIKS: Full range 35hz-20Khz omnidirectinal, one 3 gramm weighting conical carbon membran driver, needs no crossover, producing pistonic, modal and bending wave radiation....a revelation. An effective solution to eliminate a whole range of problems which conventional pistonic loudspeakers , broadband or not, with crossovers or not, normaly struggle. 13k for an unknown company, unproven technology and unknown if there are going to be around to support any warranty / repairs in few years. Not for me

Quite happy with my McIntosh MA252, got a tube preamp with Mcintosh Class A/B power for a lot less than this is offering. I also expect I'll have less trouble with servicing and spare parts in another 15 years! Interesting tech and I liked the tour, but nobody is waiting for an integrated at this price range, and why would you limit yourself to an onboard DAC? It's clearly priced to not sell much and I think they will achieve this. The carbon fibre is 'tacky', like having gold plated taps, its an irrelevant expense, but when you are making the numbers up anyway, why not eh? Small tech point, but a volume control needs to work logarithmically as that's how our ears work, not linearly. :) It's not nice to see people taking class D designs, which were always about delivering good power cheaply, and turning them into overly expensive designs. I've watched this BS for over 40 years and it will never change! Thanks for looking at it, very hard to share your enthusiasm though :)

How does this possibly have the same inner workings as the separate preamp and amp when the designer just said that it has a “passive” preamp. I have a traditional integrated tube amp (meaning it has a passive pre)They can be great if you don’t need too much flexibility. But then, flexibility seems to be part of the hi lights that the unit is selling. It’s little wonder that the phono stage is moving magnet. Getting enough kick for moving coil without the help of a preamp -ie 72dB -could be quite difficult. I run 53 dB out of my phono preamp along with a 4.0mV output Grado master. BTW, the latest $1k Grado Master sounded so good that it replaced my multi thousand dollar moving coil on my main table! I could use the 1.0mv version, but John Grado advised me that this was pushing it.

i will keep my Rega Elex 4 $1800 and blissful and pass on the bragging rights
